Currumbin Handicap – April 2009 Results.
The inaugural Currumbin Handicap was paddled today in perfect conditions as always on the creek. The race was won by powerhouse David Zinn by more than 4 minutes infront of Doug Catran in 2nd place and Kristy Mitchell placing 3rd.
David leads the Currumbin Handicap Points score with 1 point and at this stage is well in the running for the grand prize of a new carbon fibre paddle hand crafted and donated by Chris Hurley. Starting next month there will also be a monthly prize for the handicap winner of various sporting and adventure goods.
Sam Tom currently holds the K1 course record sitting at a very fast 0:40:12. Lets see how long he can hold onto the title as fastest paddler on the creek!
