2012 QLD Schools Marathon Championships – 25th August Currumbin Creek.

Held this year at Currumbin Creek, the 2012 Schools Marathon Championships hosted a number of schools from across the state. Students, the youngest being 7 years old, raced over distances between 1.5km to 9km in single and double kayaks in perfect conditions. The whole day was a big success for all individuals who competed but no school was as strong as the Pacific Lutheran College who won the overall point score. Congratulations!!

A special thanks must be given to Libby from QLD Canoeing who pulled everything together and of course the numerous volunteered who gave their time to make this event a big success. Without volunteers nothing would be possible. The day ran like clockwork, it was a happy supportive environment, and everyone had a fantastic time.
