Race 2 of the CCCC paddlers series was held in conditions that could only be described as "we should have stayed in bed". However we had 13 locals, 35 ladies and 1 gent ( got to give you a plug Rob) from MLC in Melbourne brave the elements for an 8K and 6k time trial.
Jody Zerbst set a handy pace to take line honours in the 8K and remind everybody that he will be the one to chase come the QLD Champs later in the year.
It was a bit hard to get a true picture on the 6K event as our visitors when looking for a different bouey and paddled a extra couple of K's. I think they found a crab pot at about the second canal to go around.
Special thanks to Grant for maning the safety boat, Julie and her cooking team for the pancakes and Neil for the timing. As usual, evergreen John was up with the sparrows to ensure everything went to plan.
Good luck to our juniours heading to Penrith next week for the selection camp, with Remi showing today she was getting some form back and ready to race.
