John Newton conducted a training day at Currumbin Creek in the art of effective team boat paddling. Members from the club took to the water in both K2’s and TK2’s keen to get some good paddling advice. The morning started with a stretching/core stability session followed by on water balance drills, paddling skills and finished with video stroke correction. Everyone found the morning most enjoyable and beneficial. Big thank you to John “Newt Dog” Newton – Currumbin Creek Canoe Club Coach.
What an awesome morning, great people and just a terrific sport, big thanks to John, ( the coach) for his stretching and paddling expertise, showing us skills and balancing drills for TK2 and also Amanda for filming our paddling techniques ( in my case lack of) and then individually frame by frame showing us how to improve, meaning we can paddle for longer with less effort! – Bryson Cox, New Currumbin Creek Canoe Club Member.
